Q10:

Is Snowfering more expensive than skiing or snowboarding?
If you add up all the start-up costs plus how many hours you are able to sail in a period of twenty years, you will come to an average cost of .28 cents per hour to operate the Snowfer. Can you do this with snowboarding or skiing with today's high cost of lift tickets plus all the other expenses that comes with it?

Q13:

Where can I try the board, rent one or take a lesson?
Snowfer board is a relatively new product. Therefore, there is not much location where you can try it. My best advice is to sign up for Snowfer clinic starting from January at Lake Simcoe, Ontario, Canada and make it into a winter holiday.

A specific location for testing the Snowfer in Germany is Berlin. Here you can check out further information about Berlin.

Q16:

What are the differences between the 3 models of Snowfer?
Basically the length of the boards and the way they are made. The KC 2 is 9 inch or 23 cm shorter than the other twos. Therefore it is more suitable on snow sailing for smaller persons or children. For ice sailing all boards are equally enjoyable. The Snowfer KC 3 X and KC 4 EX are made from the same model. Both are top good quality line boards but the KC 4 EX has a higher impact resistance as it is made of Epoxy V.E.R. resin that gives superior strength and lightness over regular polyester resin. Starting in 2003 only the Snowfer KC5 Pro Race will be produce. The most upgrade of all Snowfer model. With better inlays, improved stiffnes of body edges and the same weight as the former model KC 4 EX.

Long boards are more enjoyable for snow sailing specially on deep snow.

Q17:

Can I do jumps with the Snowfer?
You could jump with the Snowfer and get a really big air but you should know that jumping is risky and you could get hurt even on water. Therefore, we are not encouraging anyone to jump. If you do jump, the feeling of it and techniques are very similar to water jumping. Avoid any flat landing and make sure you have plenty of soft snow where you are landing (Never try to do jumps on ice).

Q18:

Does the Snowfer spin out?
The Snowfer is very stable and holds the edge extremely well. Spinouts are very rare. But if it really does happen, it's caused by improper sailing techniques or the blades are not sharp enough when sailing on ice condition.

Q19:

How fast can the Snowfer go?
Snowfer is fast enough to make anyone's heartbeat increase. It is capable to challenge any specialized ice sailing equipment with hand held rigs on ice while still superbly fast on snow. How fast is this per hour you say. Well, we don't want to scare you away.
